Condition and Testing
Every drive is checked with HD Sentinel Pro before it is listed, so you know what you are getting. This is a used enterprise drive, and it is supplied as a bare drive only, with no caddy or tray included.
Compatibility
The drive uses a standard SATA 6Gbps interface, so it works in desktops, NAS units, servers and SATA or SAS backplanes. It is a 3.5 inch drive, so it needs a full-size 3.5″ bay or caddy. Enterprise drives run at 7,200 RPM and can be louder and warmer than desktop drives, so good airflow is recommended.
Ideal Uses
The drive is well suited to NAS units (Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS, Unraid), backup servers, surveillance NVRs and bulk storage in servers and desktops. It is a cost-effective way to add capacity or replace a failed drive in an existing array.
Warranty and Delivery
This drive carries a 1-year carry-in warranty and a 7-day dead-on-arrival window. Read our refund, returns and warranty policy for full details. We ship nationwide via The Courier Guy, including Pudo lockers. See our delivery options for rates, or browse more refurbished IT hardware in our shop. Manufacturer information is available on the Seagate Exos 7E8 support page website.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the drive new or used?
This drive is a used enterprise drive. Before listing, it was tested with HD Sentinel Pro to check its health and performance. Used enterprise drives are a popular way to build reliable storage for much less than the cost of new hardware.
Does the drive come with a caddy?
No. The drive is sold as a bare drive. If your server or storage enclosure uses hot-swap bays, you will need the correct caddy or tray for your chassis. Caddies are model-specific, so check your server model before ordering.
Will the drive work in my system?
The drive works with any standard SATA port or SATA-capable backplane, including most desktops, NAS units and servers. It needs a full-size 3.5″ bay. If you are unsure, send us your NAS or server model and we will confirm compatibility before you buy.
What warranty do I get?
Every drive from BuyRefurb includes a 1-year carry-in warranty, plus a 7-day dead-on-arrival window from delivery. Please test your drive as soon as it arrives.
